What to tell us about the lockout
Vehicle access situations vary, so a few details help before service begins. Provide the vehicle year, make, and model, where the keys are located if known, and whether every door and the trunk are locked.
Common lockout situations
- Keys visible on a seat, console, or floor.
- Keys left in a locked trunk or cargo area.
- Automatic locking after the vehicle was closed.
- A key or fob that is inaccessible while the vehicle remains parked.
If a child, vulnerable person, or pet is locked inside a vehicle and conditions are dangerous, contact emergency services immediately rather than waiting for ordinary roadside service.
Need more than lockout help?
If the vehicle has another problem after access is restored, we can also help with jump starts, flat tire service, or towing.
